Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I wish to make a donation - who do I make my cheque payable to?

A: Cheques should be made payable to ‘UHNS Charity’. If there’s a particular area of the hospital you’d like to support, please provide this information in a covering letter.

Q: How do I give you my donation?

A: There are a number of ways to do this. If you have cheques, these can be posted to us (see “Contact Us” on this site for the charity’s address). Alternatively, ring us on (01782) 676444 for other ways of bringing in or presenting your donation to staff.

Q: How will I know you’ve received my donation?

A: We will write to you to thank you for your donation and you will receive an official receipt from the charity.

Q: How will my donation be used?

A: All donations are used to enhance the care we provide to patients. This may be in the form of equipment, patient comforts on the wards or for staff educational purposes.

Q: Is any of the money I donate used for administration costs?

A: No. Every penny of every donation is given to the area of the hospital which you have chosen to support. There are no deductions made from donations.

Q: Can I donate second-hand toys and soft toys to the children’s wards?

A: Unfortunately we are unable to accept this type of gift. There are many local charity shops that may be interested in your items; you could find details of your local charity shops in the Yellow Pages.
